Goku asks:
“Bro, I need your help cause it’s my girlfriend’s birthday soon and she fuckin loves this Marvel shit I don’t really get it. Maybe I shouldn’t swear but whatevs. idk I’ve never done something like this before
Anyway I was looking for marvel stuff and I was wanting to like, impress her
So I saw she really likes this character called Squirrel Girl? So like to start is there anything obscure I could get her about squirrel girl? Or maybe just like the best squirrel girl stuff?
Okay but like that’s not all I want okay I want to like, idk how to say it but like I want her to know that like I’m going an extra step so like, is there some other marvel character like squirrel girl that I could get something for her too? Liek she has all this squirrel girl stuff but idk like I feel like it’s too obvious just to get that you know like she might htink I didn’t think about it. So what character would be a lot like squirrel girl she might like, like what issue could I find for her?
Thanks dude.”
If your girlfriend is into comic books themselves, then I’d recommend getting her the issue West Coast Avenger #6 and any other associated books. This comic isn’t so much about the team the West Coast Avengers themselves, but about another Avengers team, the Great Lakes Avengers. The membership of this team is an utterly ridiculous cadre of superheroes, including one of my personal favorites, Mr. Immortal, whose only ability is that he can’t die. The team itself is an utter joke to begin with, so I think both you and your girlfriend could get a kick out of it.
For other recommendations, I’d suggest GLA: Misassembled #1-4, a storyline detailing the resurgence of the Great Lakes Avengers, and how Squirrel Girl actually ended up joining the team. It’s an entertaining read.

Devious Troll asks:
“I’m normally not an asshole but sometimes I like to troll my overly passionate nerd friends. It’s funny to watch them get salty when I incorrectly say a marvel fact or start a heated debate among the group. As a certain butler from a certain DC movie said: “Some people like to watch the world burn.” That’s me! I like watching the world burn… or at least crank up the heat. That being said, what’s the best argument I can bring to the table to watch some hardcore marvel fans flip over that same table? I should note that I’m not a marvel fan myself; I only watched the movies. But I’m capable of pretending that I am knowledgeable in all things nerdy. Can you help this little troll get a meal?”
If you’re looking for a comic to throw your Marvel fan friends into a tizzy, then I’d recommend Superior Spider-Man #1 as a starting point. Why you might ask? Well that’s the beginning of the Super Spider–Man story arc. I won’t go into too many details for the sake of spoilers, but let me tell you, that storyline is as insane as it is polarizing.
Jane asks:
“All of my family members enjoy Marvel comics, but I’ve never really liked reading them. What Marvel character – preferably female – do you think might interest me? Your recommendation would be much appreciated.”
When it comes to strong, female characters, you can’t get any stronger than the incredible She-Hulk. Ever since her debut in Savage She-Hulk #1 in the February of 1980, She-Hulk has been a staple character in the Marvel Universe. While sometimes treated as a supporting character to her cousin, Bruce Banner, She-Hulk is more well-known for her solo outings.
She-Hulk’s got both brawn and brains, with the lawyer Jennifer Walters being her secret identity. For a specific read, I’d recommend the pages of She-Hulk #8 and all accompanying storylines. In it, She-Hulk goes up against the Champion of the Universe, both in court and on the battlefield. It’s a very entertaining and interesting story.
She-Hulk’s a very popular character in Marvel Comics, and is finally getting the live-action treatment with an upcoming television series on Disney+ as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Happy reading!
